Last night, Jon and I were talking about how there is stress for him at work and stress at home. I know, this sounds
awful and just plain sad. Home should be respite from the stress of this world, right?!
The thing is, we've opened our door and invited the world to come in and stay a while.
We signed up to work with the state through foster care. It feels more like we're working against them, or like we are d r a g g i n g and pushing them along.
Adding Baby J decreased our sleep and split our attention further. No surprise - it's just what happens when baby makes 6.
Adding D Boy has nearly made us throw in the towel on a few occasions. He is having to wade through past trauma and now the confusion of living with our {semi-large, homeschooling - aka I have an important job to do and can't just follow him and play all day} family, yet still visiting Mama. It feels like sheer survival a lot of days.
Just when I think I may drown in it all, a friend speaks words of life. Keep picking up your cross. Keep dying to yourself. It is good. It is right. Pour out your life and keep your focus.
Can you guess what my husband said last night after acknowledging the craziness of our life?
"We're going to look back and miss these days."
And now I love him even more.
