Because I need the constant reminder...it may be on the kids' foreheads next.

Introducing D-boy

Meet D-boy, our newest addition.  He is 2 1/2 years old and all stereotypical boy and two year old.  D is sweet and will likely also drive me crazy ;-) with his affinity for throwing all things and need for constant supervision!  He enjoyed playing with our kids and the dogs {my parents' dog, pictured above, is here visiting}.  I'm in love {again}.

The Opposite of Easy

Snuggles before Baby J got picked up by her social worker to visit her mom.

Watching her leave was tough.  Yes, even though she said she would be back in a little over two hours.

The social worker must have noticed the tears I was fighting back, because she told me not to be sad yet.  Then she told me Baby J wouldn't leave until March.  What?!  It was such a casual comment.  We have never been told this information before {and really, anything can change}.

She thought it'd make me feel better.

Not exactly.

I'm already crazy attached and in love with this girl!

I'm thinking that when saying goodbye for a couple of hours after only loving her a short time is painful, March {or any day after this one} won't be easier.  Probably the opposite of easy.

Stay. Learn.

Baby J's mama wants me to stay.  She wants to talk, hear about her daughter.

It's what I think I wanted too.

Still, it makes my heart race.   And makes my heart stop.  And then race again.

How do you talk to a stranger whose child you love?

A stranger who could use some love herself.

I don't know what to say or how to love like this.

But that's okay - even normal.  Otherwise, the Word wouldn't say this...

"...cease to do evil, learn to do good; seek justice, correct oppression; bring justice to the fatherless, plead the widow's cause (Isaiah 1:16b-17)."

Or Jesus wouldn't have said this...

"Those who are well have no need of a physician, but hose who are sick.  Go and learn what this means, I desire mercy, and not sacrifice.  For I came not to call the righteous, but sinners (Luke 9:13)."
